One of the preeminent student edited law journals is the Tulane maritime law journal. This journal was found in the year 1973 and remains really famous and widely circulated till date.  It is one of the best law journals in the maritime and admiralty law. It also discusses the salvage law in some of its articles wherever it is relevant. This journal is published twice in an year and each of its issues include the scholarly works that have been written by the practitioners, academicians and the students pertaining to the issues and current topics of the maritime and admiralty law. The areas that pertain to the eu or the European Union Law and the British Isles law are also much complimented and appreciated by the members of the Tulane maritime law journal. To add, this journal also publishes the annual sections of the United States and other international communities International Law and the recent developments. Further the periodic symposia over the relevant and topical areas of the field with the collision and quantum surveys every another year.

Recently, this journal began the publishing of the works of the students in the electrical format that is accessible through the internet very easily. This feature has enabled the far and wide reach of the journal to people to distant countries and places as well where it was not possible to circulate the hard copies of the journal. So the electronic version of the journal can be accessed in every state on the www or the World Wide Web. Also, there will be lesser trouble in circulating the journal copies that carries great law reports to far away lands by ship cruise. The journal members that number about 40-45 are generally selected after the evaluation of their academic performance and summer-writing competition.

The applicable rates of the annual subscription cover both the issues of annual volumes. For instance, the new subscriptions that are effected before the publication of first issue concerning the given volume would receive both of the issues of that volume. The new subscriptions that are effected after the publication of the 1st issue but actually before the publication of the second issue will get mailed immediately the 1st issue and will receive the 2nd issue by the time it gets published. The new subscriptions that are effected after the publication of any given second issue will actually receive both the issues concerning the next volume.

This Tulane maritime law journal has an amazing circulation of about 1000 copies that spans over 38 of the countries in six continents. It also includes a lot of insurance companies (marine), law firms that run privately, shipping lines, federal judges, federal agencies and the supreme courts. All of the journal members have this amazing facility of interacting with the national, local and the international admiralty lawyers. As mentioned earlier as well, this journal is published semi annually and has both the works, scholarly and practical. These two are the summer edition and the winter edition.
